Dan Binowitz
Dan Binowitz most recently served as the Managing Director of Servicing at loanDepot, at which he held various leadership roles for over 14 years. Dan was dedicated to fostering long-term relationships with customers by ensuring an exceptional experience throughout the entire loan servicing lifecycle.
Dan joined loanDepot in 2011, bringing with him over 20 years of experience in mortgage lending and financial services. He played a pivotal role in building the foundation on which loanDepot operates today, while at various times during his tenure he led loan trading, hedging, processing, underwriting, funding, post-closing, and loan servicing operations. In 2021, Dan successfully guided the transition of the company from an outsourced, third-party subservicing model to a fully in-house platform.
Before joining loanDepot, Dan held various leadership positions in the financial services industry, including roles at Freemont Investment and Loan, LH Capital Management, and PMAC Mortgage Services. At PMAC, he negotiated the sale of the company and facilitated the transition to new ownership and management.
Today, Dan is taking on advisory roles while also focusing his efforts on fund raising and educational opportunities in partnership with the American Heart Association.
Dan is a graduate of the University of Michigan, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. He previously served on the MERS Advisory Council and has previously served on the Secondary Marketing Advisory Councils for Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, as well as Fannie Mae’s Servicing Advisory Council.
Ruth Ruhl
Ruth Ruhl is the founder and President of RUTH RUHL, P.C.
Ruth’s extensive knowledge of the mortgage industry comes from a career that began as a mortgage loan officer after graduating from the University of Texas at Austin. Equipped with a B.B.A. degree in Finance, Ruth quickly learned the critical importance of proactively addressing problems that arise in the preparation of loan documents.
After honing her skills in that profession, she earned a law degree from Oklahoma City University School of Law where she graduated magna cum laude. Ruth joined the law firm of Barrett Burke Wilson Castle Daffin & Frappier, LLP, in Addison, Texas, which focused on residential foreclosures. Ruth’s understanding of the business side of mortgage lending prompted the managing partner to put her in charge of building a loss mitigation department. She was promoted to partner, specializing in loan origination, specialty loan and loss mitigation, and regulatory compliance. She joined PeirsonPatterson, LLP five years later, where she worked as a partner and director in the Specialty Loan Section.
Ruth soon realized she was fully equipped to start her own law firm serving mortgage lenders and mortgage servicing companies, and, in 1999, RUTH RUHL, P.C. was created.
RUTH RUHL, P.C. is recognized as a woman-owned business both nationally and state wide. The firm is a member of WBENC and is certified as a Texas Woman Owned Business.
Ruth is a member of the American Bar Association, State Bar of Texas, College of the State Bar, Texas Academy of Mortgage Attorneys and, the Dallas Bar Association. Mortgage banking industry involvement includes the National Mortgage Bankers Association, American Mortgage Diversity Council, Texas Credit Union Real Estate Network, and the Dallas Mortgage Bankers Association. Ruth has served as an officer and is a board member of the Texas Mortgage Bankers Association where she currently is the co-chair of the 2018 Convention Committee, and has been chair of the Servicing Committee and TMBPAC. Ruth is a fifth generation Texan.
Martin Foster
Martin Foster is a veteran mortgage servicing executive whose career began in default operations at Countrywide, where he managed foreclosure, bankruptcy, and post-sale functions across multiple locations. Over the years, he has built a reputation for guiding organizations through the full default lifecycle — from early-stage delinquency and loss mitigation to foreclosure, bankruptcy, claims, and recovery. Martin “Marty” has led large-scale servicing operations at Cenlar, PHH Mortgage, Countrywide Home Loans and Shearson Lehman Mortgage often stepping into complex situations to stabilize teams, strengthen compliance, and deliver measurable improvements in cost, efficiency, and customer experience. Known for developing innovative servicing platforms and mentoring high-performing teams, he has consistently driven results while keeping the homeowner experience at the center of the process.
Wayne Arute
Wayne Arute currently serves on the advisory board of LAW Asset Management where he assists in leading the management team in the growth, strategy, and direction of the business. Wayne brings more than 30 years of industry experience to LAW Asset Management. Including mortgage banking, mortgage servicing, default operations, mortgage originations as well as a vast real estate background. Wayne served as CEO of The National Groups, a company that provided end-to-end default services for the mortgage servicing industry. The company included six subsidiaries, including a highly successful REO Asset Management and Short Sale platform known as National Default Servicing (NDS). Wayne holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and in Engineering from Central Connecticut University and an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Wayne holds Real Estate Brokerage licenses in CT, MA, RI, NY and FL and an Asset Management License in NV.
Tim Neer
Mr. Neer is a Mortgage Servicing Executive whose career expands more than 42 years of progressive experience and specialization in mortgage servicing operations. He is currently serving in an advisory capacity for LAW. Mr. Neer’s experience spans the entire spectrum of the servicing business including performing and non-preforming portfolio’s. He has led numerous turn arounds and created operational efficiencies utilizing his background as a Six Sigma Black Belt and Project Management skills. He is regarded in the industry as a visionary and strategic executive with a wide range of skills in leading servicing operations.
Mr. Neer is recognized as an exceptional leader with numerous leadership roles in organizations both large and small. He is considered highly visionary with a focus on creating operational efficiency. He is a strategic and tactical leader with a history of introducing new technologies and changing operational practices, which setting the stage for annualized savings and long term business growth. He has most recently served in the capacity of Director of Servicing Operations for a mid-size regional bank where he led the significant growth and restructuring on the banks mortgage operations. His other roles include Director of Financial Transaction Management, VP of Post Production Services, VP of Investor Services and VP of Default Services. Mr. Neer gained his Black Belt in Six Sigma and completed the Leadership development program while working for GE Capital.
